What Our Patients Are Saying

Everybody I have dealt with has been more than helpful professional and courteous. I don't have any complaints at all. Just thank you for all your doing to help me.

A. Fischer

I’ve never had MicroTherapy™ before and I was somewhat hesitant about it!!! I’ve had two sessions now and I feel like I get a lot out of it!!! It more direct and purposeful!!!

Luke F.

This place has changed my life. Honestly I'm not sure what took me so long to find this gem. They have changed the way I look at therapy completely.

Maks B.

This has been a life changing therapy tool for me! I live in a very rural area with hardly any therapy resources. This allows me to use Zoom and talk directly...

Common Questions Before Getting Started

How do I schedule an appointment?

Book your appointment online here and you'll receive an instant confirmation. If you prefer, give us a call at 516-505-7200 and our team can help schedule your visit. "

What happens during my first appointment with Mindful Care?

Your first visit sets the foundation for your personalized care plan. If you’re seeking therapy, the appointment typically includes a Biopsychosocial (BPS) assessment to understand your mental health history, challenges, and goals.
For medication management, the session includes a psychiatric evaluation to assess symptoms and determine treatment options. Your mental health therapist will listen to your concerns, answer questions, and collaborate with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. We offer both in-person and online mental health care, so you can begin your journey wherever you feel most comfortable.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

To reschedule an appointment, new and existing patients can call 516-505-7200, email support@mindful.care, or use the patient portal. Our online therapy platform also makes rescheduling virtual appointments fast and simple. Please note cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee.

Can I receive help online?

Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual mental health services, including same-day psychiatric appointments for flexibility and convenience. Our online therapy sessions and online mental health counseling allow you to access therapy, psychiatry, and recovery support from home, making mental health care easier to fit into your schedule. Whether you prefer face-to-face sessions or online mental health services, our team is here to support you.

Will my appointment be in-person or virtual?

It depends on the type of appointment. Some services are virtual, while others are in-person. Please confirm the format when scheduling. We make it easy to choose what works best for you—whether it’s a telehealth therapist or an in-office visit.

What Is A Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Physician Associate (PA-C)?

NPs and PA-Cs are licensed medical professionals with advanced training. They are qualified to assess conditions, develop treatment plans, provide therapy, and guide patients in managing their health. They work in both primary care and mental health settings, collaborating closely with supervising physicians.

Can I choose my provider?

We do our best to accommodate provider requests. However, availability may vary and could delay appointment scheduling. Whether you’re seeing an in-person clinician or an online psychologist, we’ll help you find the right match.

How do I follow up after my appointment?

During your visit, your provider will recommend a follow-up schedule that aligns with your treatment plan and availability. After your first appointment, you’ll receive an email with the details of your next visit. For mental health counseling online, your follow-up sessions can easily take place through our secure online therapy platform.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most commercial health insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid managed plans. To verify coverage, please upload a copy of your insurance card when scheduling. If we are not in-network with your plan, we will notify you before confirming your appointment.
If you are uninsured, we offer affordable pricing to ensure you still have access to care through our online mental health services or in-person visits.

See accepted insurances here.

Is Mindful Care open 24/7?

No, Mindful Care is not a 24/7 facility. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM, with limited weekend availability. We offer same-day and next-day psychiatric appointments and strive to make care accessible quickly and efficiently, including online mental health support options.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

We offer same-day and next-day appointments Sunday through Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM. While high demand may occasionally cause delays, most patients are seen within 48 hours. Our online therapy platform helps streamline scheduling for both virtual and in-person care.

Can I get therapy and medication management at the same time?

Yes, many of our patients receive both therapy and medication management. We will work with you to create a care plan that best fits your needs. This includes combining online therapy sessions with medication follow-ups.

Do you offer medication during urgent care visits?

Yes. Medication may be prescribed following a psychiatric evaluation. Prescriptions are based on the provider’s clinical judgment and your health history to ensure appropriate treatment.

What ages do you see?

Psychiatric Services (Medication Management): Ages 12+
Therapy Services (Individual & Group): Ages 18+
Recovery Counseling: Ages 18+
Our online mental health counseling and online therapy sessions are available for qualifying age groups, offering flexibility for teens and adults.
