Everybody I have dealt with has been more than helpful professional and courteous. I don't have any complaints at all. Just thank you for all your doing to help me.

I’ve never had MicroTherapy™ before and I was somewhat hesitant about it!!! I’ve had two sessions now and I feel like I get a lot out of it!!! It more direct and purposeful!!!

This place has changed my life. Honestly I'm not sure what took me so long to find this gem. They have changed the way I look at therapy completely.

This has been a life changing therapy tool for me! I live in a very rural area with hardly any therapy resources. This allows me to use Zoom and talk directly...

Common Questions From Our Community

How do I schedule an appointment?

New patients can schedule an appointment online here. Once you submit your request, our team will contact you within 24 hours to confirm your appointment. Existing patients can call 516–505–7200 or email support@mindful.care to schedule.

Can I receive help online?

Yes! We offer both in-person and online psychiatric same-day appointments to ensure flexibility and convenience for our patients. Our virtual care services allow you to access therapy, psychiatry, and recovery support from the comfort of your own home, making it easier to fit mental health care into your busy schedule. Whether you prefer face-to-face sessions or the convenience of online care, our team is here to help you find the support you need.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

We offer same-day and next-day appointments Sunday through Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM. While high demand may occasionally cause delays, most patients are seen within 48 hours.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most commercial health insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid managed plans. To verify coverage, please upload a copy of your insurance card when scheduling. If we are not in-network with your plan, we will notify you before confirming your appointment.
If you are uninsured, we offer affordable pricing to ensure you still have access to care.
See accepted insurances here.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

To reschedule an appointment, new and existing patients can call 516-505-7200, email support@mindful.care, or use the patient portal. Please note: cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee.

Is Mindful Care open 24/7?

No, Mindful Care is not a 24/7 facility. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 7 PM, with limited weekend availability. We offer same-day and next-day psychiatric appointments and strive to make care accessible quickly and efficiently.

What happens during my first appointment with Mindful Care?

Your first visit sets the foundation for your personalized care plan. If you’re seeking therapy, the appointment typically includes a Biopsychosocial (BPS) assessment to understand your mental health history, challenges, and goals.
For medication management, the session includes a psychiatric evaluation to assess symptoms and determine treatment options.
Your provider will listen to your concerns, answer questions, and collaborate with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Do you offer medication during urgent care visits?

Yes. Medication may be prescribed following a psychiatric evaluation. Prescriptions are based on the provider’s clinical judgment and your health history to ensure appropriate treatment.

Who will I see at my appointment?

You will be seen by a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Physician Associate (PA-C), either in-person or virtually. All are trained and certified to provide psychiatric care and work closely with supervising psychiatrists (MDs) to coordinate treatment.

What Is A Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Physician Associate (PA-C)?

NPs and PA-Cs are licensed medical professionals with advanced degrees. They are trained to diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, provide therapy, and educate patients. They work in both primary and mental health care settings under the supervision of a physician.

Will I be seen in-person or virtually?

It depends on the type of appointment. Some services are virtual, while others are in-person. Please confirm the format when scheduling.

What ages do you see?

Psychiatric Services (Medication Management): Ages 12+
Therapy Services (Individual & Group): Ages 18+
Recovery Counseling: Ages 18+

Can I choose my provider?

We do our best to accommodate provider requests. However, availability may vary and could delay appointment scheduling.

    • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
    • Trevor Lifeline (LGBTQ+ support): Call 1-866-488-7386

How do I follow up after my appointment?

During your visit, your provider will recommend a follow-up schedule that aligns with your treatment plan and availability. After your first appointment, you’ll receive an email with the details of your next visit.

Can I get therapy and medication management at the same time?

Yes, many of our patients receive both therapy and medication management. We will work with you to create a care plan that best fits your needs.

What medications do you prescribe?

Mindful Care prescribes a wide range of safe and effective psychiatric medications, including antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and mood stabilizers.
We do not prescribe controlled substances, habit-forming medications, or long-acting injectables; except in the treatment of opioid use disorder.
